AusTouch

The 2012 AusTouch season starts on Friday September 14th and runs every Friday night at 6pm until December 7th and is played at Greenwood Park on Thuringowa Drive, Kirwan.

AusTouch was developed by Touch Football Australia (TFA) in consultation with the Australian Sports Commission (ASC). Each week the children participate in a session that includes a warm up, and some thinking challenge/skill games. Children play skills games within their team and to finish participate in a inter-team challenge.

We also apply the "True Sports" program developed by QLD Sport and Recreation to our AusTouch kids. In practice, this means that your children are encouraged to be good sports and each night a child from each group is selected to receive a "Good Sport" certificate to reinforce good attitudes or behaviours.

Our AusTouch program varies slightly from the TFA model to allow for the reduced ability of the younger children in our program. As we also host a fully fledged Junior competition, AusTouch is only for Under 6's (children aged 4-6).

AusTouch costs $50 for the season, payable on the first week, plus $2 each week.  Thuringowa Touch playing shirts can be purchased for an extra $25. Children also receive a participation certificate.

To nominate your child or if you are interested in volunteering, please see the Juniors page.

AusTouch will run over the school holidays

The fun starts at 6pm

Don't forget to bring along a water bottle and shoes, expect some parent participation.
