Junior Touch @ Thuringowa
Nominations for the 2012 Junior Touch season, including AusTouch, are now open.
The 2012 Junior season starts on Friday September 14th and runs every Friday night at 6pm until December 7th and is played at Greenwood Park on Thuringowa Drive, Kirwan.
A full junior competition will be held for children aged 6 to 12 years. AusTouch sessions will be held for children aged 4 to 6 years.
Each week children participate in a session that includes a warm up, a thinking challenge/skill game and a game of touch football. You can nominate your TEAM, your child as a single player or ask to have them with a particular team if you know other children that are involved. If you nominate as a single child we will use the information of school and any friends names to place your child in a team. You can nominate a team if you have a group ready to run!
Junior fees cost $50 for the season, payable on the first week, plus $2 each week. Thuringowa Touch playing shirts can be purchased for an extra $25.

There will be a team warm up/training 6-6:20pm, then a game and a team challenge at the end of the night.

What is it?
Junior Touch games are being held by Thuringowa Touch Association at Greenwood Park. Divisions being hosted are Under 8's and Under 10's. There is also a junior Austouch Program for children aged 4-6.
If your child is under 8 but has played Touch or any other football code before they are welcome to play in the competition rather than Austouch.
Children from the Junior Fixtures are selected to participate in our Thuringowa representative sides which compete each year in Townsville at the NQ Junior Championships (held in early November).
How it Works?
Sessions run for an hour and commence at 6.15pm. For the Junior Competition each week the children participate in a session that includes a warm up, a game of Touch and all age race based on either passing and catching, running, tactical or decision making. For Austouch the children rotate between one of four skills catching, passing, running and solving a problem (where to run).
You can nominate as a child or team however nominations for this years competition are closed. If you nominate as a single child, you can ask to have them with a particular team if you know other children that are involved or we will use the information of school and any friends names to place your child in a team. Nominations are called for every year during August until the second week of September.
What it Costs and What You Get?
AusTouch and Juniors cost $100. For this fees each child receives a Touch Football and a Thuringowa Touch bag and playing shirt. Children also receive a participation certificate and "great work" or "good sport" encouragement certificate, depending on their behaviour. Free cold cups and free sausage sizzles are also provided on advertised nights.
There is no additional fees involved.
Plus, they have fun!

The Juniors and AusTouch programme starts at 6.15pm on Fridays from September 2nd until December 2nd, 2011.
